RIFs and seniority list accuracy

Among the many legal and policy issues involved in preparing for real job losses for our members is the immediate need to review local contracts for seniority list accuracy prior to any RIF actions by the district. Many contracts have provisions that allow the union an opportunity to review member seniority lists. Typically these provisions have a very short timeline (often 10 days) to clarify member seniority and return to the district.

The following list is the result of an initial ISYS search of the contracts in WEA’s possession which have a February date for seniority review by the union.
